Ensouled Living

Healing Circle

Ensouled Living is here for the Soul purpose of supporting All in cultivating and practicing more soulful ways of being.

The ensouled life is a moment of harmony in the noise. A purple lilac twirling blissfully to the caress of a spring breeze. Golden sun enlivening a billowy sky dweller. Ripples of oceanic pleasure crashing onto shore. Bearing fossilized wonders upon a sandy belly. A whisper that tickles the ear and awakens a ripple of delight. Touch—sensual, carresant, stirring, and emergent. The presence of a beloved in a dark and seemingly eternal hour. An awareness of the presence of angels. A shy smile containing a bellyful of unbridled JOY. A candle to hold hands with the darkness. A broken heart. A tender and newly receptive heart practicing love.

And yet: that is simply one part of a richly ensouled existence. Ensouled also relates to the soul that is alive in all. The broken heart. The awakened heart. The child swinging from a vine with wild abandon, giggling ecstatically. The father—suited in black—staying late at the office, typing on a computer—rationalized because he so loves his family. All 9-5ers, for that matter, who wake up to an alarm, guzzle coffee, find their place in the daily traffic line up, and drift more in than out of forgetfulness. The one who hears the Call of his dream and seeks its integration into his life. The one who hears the same, but shuts it out for fear she is not ready—not now, not me. The land that suffers at the destructive rupture of the plow. The land that is lush with wildflowers and abundant herbal life.

Ensouled: The soul that lives in all things. It lives on–amidst the suffering, the tumult of unknowing, the thrills, the laughs, the delightful perfection of all that is. It is the spirit that lives all around us, in us, through us, and protecting us. Ever present within us, imbuing all that we are and do. It’s clear light and infinite treasures are accessible to all. It is that which rockets us out of forgetfulness and ever in the direction of remembrance. Awakens our hearts. Ennobles our minds–bringing clarity of vision. Stirs us to action on behalf of the All. For our love is so vast.

The ensouled walk, the ensouled experience teaches us that we have a choice – a choice to live centered in our hearts, feeling, being and remembering love OR to fall from love, to forget love, as we move instead into shame, blame, and pain.

Ensouled living is the path that unites All. It is the path that sees nothing as inherently separate to oneself. A journey embellished with the beauty of collective unity. The path that leaves room for all to walk together. Some are carried. Some await those who would lag behind. Some surge ahead–safeguarding the laggers while foretelling what is to come. Some are elder. Some are small and delicately made. Many languages are present. 10,000 faces of divine beauty. Wrinkled and sun kissed. Silken and untouched. Eyes insatiably wide and curious. Eyes grey and sullen.  Sorrow and heart ache.  Radiant joy and aliveness.

On this ensouled journey, all the memories of the collective are present and acknowledged. All of our hopes. Our broken promises. Our will to try again. Our desire to give up. All of our bliss and all of our pain–all facets of us-ness is present. Nothing hides. The sunlight shines on all faces and all experiences of truth–embracing all. All kinds—the gargantuan and the tiny, the brown and the purple—walk together. All the earth’s kin-dom – tattered clothing, a bare nipple, a baby’s bottom, the music of bare feet pattering the earth. The footsteps of 10,000 drums—each one unique, perfect and imperfect, whole and seeking wholeness. Pa-pum: We are Here. And we are walking. We smile. Sometimes we wince and grimace. We worry. We fear. We fall apart, only to puzzle back together again. And always: we are there with one another–for one another. One Human Family. One collective cosmic dream. As our feet shift and slide across the land, the story comes alive. The dream awakens to itself. The soul imbuing the telling as it goes.
